The unknown sound collective creates sound art compositions of organic field recordings, experimental voice, and minimal instrumentation- a noise and freak folk ensemble that tends towards the otherworldly, often paired with other media. 

The project is founded by poet and interdisciplinary artist elena botts (mourning dove) who organizes projects & shows by the unknown sound collective virtually & irl (in real life)

The collective is interested in working with sound, video, and installation artists, if you're interested in contributing, you are invited to submit multimedia work for virtual or in person collaborations. The unknown sound collective is an experimental workshop, engaged with music releases, tours, promotions, productions, publications, workshops, residencies, or work with other organizations. Ghosts of Love - A film by Lisa Thomas

Lisa Thomas’ animated film Ghosts of Love explores the global reach of the Covid virus, honoring some of our earliest casualties, and drawing connections across neighborhoods and continents. Lisa, who introduces the film, is an artist and filmmaker, making her home in Catskill, NY. She has created independent features including Thirsty, with Thin Edge Films, and produced live and animated series and films with Comedy Central, Adult Swim, MTV, NBC, PBS, HBO, Maysles Films, and Augenblick Studios.
